Look After Your Skin in Winter

Look after your skin this winter – With summer seeming like a distant memory, now is the time to consider a change in skincare routine. The summer months require lots of sun protection and rehydration to keep our skin looking and feeling great, but winter needs something a little different. Here are some tips on how to look after your skin in winter.

Look After Your Skin In Winter – Protect From Harsh Weather

Winter weather can be tough on skin, so it’s important to make sure that our skin is protected. This can be with potions and moisturiser, but also a scarf wrapped around our face to protect from the whipping winds when we’re out and about can make all the difference. Many people opt to wear a hat during cold weather to protect their hair in much the same way.

Remove Party Makeup Properly

This time of year can be heavy going for party people, so making sure that you remove all of your makeup properly at the end of every day is a must. cleansing is a great and simple way to look after your skin this winter.

When we’re attending things like Christmas parties we tend to wear heavier makeup, especially if we’re putting our face on to last through a day of work and then an evening get together – as such, not taking off our makeup properly can leave lots of products sitting on our skin overnight, which is definitely something to avoid.

Give Your Skin a Break

On the days that you don’t need to wear makeup, try to avoid it. Our skin definitely benefits from a little time to breathe, which can be hard when you have thick makeup on. So, where possible have days with no makeup, and even a facemask when you have a bath can make all the difference.

Invest in a Good Moisturiser

Everyone’s skin is different, so it’s hard to recommend the right moisturiser but finding the right one for you is essential – and it is perfectly normal for the winter moisturiser you use to be a different one to the one you use in warmer months. Pop into a local beauty store and get some samples, so you can work out which is the best one for you before you invest too much money in a whole pot.

Address Skin Issues

An obvious way to look after your skin in winter is to address any skin conditions or issues you may have. These can range from Eczema to psoriasis, so taking action swiftly is a great idea if you notice any skin conditions developing. The solution may be as simple as using an Eczema cream or making dietary changes.
