Removing Party Makeup – Here are a few helpful hints to a workable routine for removing party makeup, late at night, when you are tired and just want to sleep! As that is how the reality of removing party makeup often is. Inconvenient, especially when all you want to do is sleep, but totally necessary, it is always worth removing makeup before you sleep. Not only will you feel much more comfortable, but it’s also much healthier for your skin. So here are a few tips to help you remove your party makeup safely and efficiently so you can get some sleep!
Where To Start
As your lips and eyes tend to have the heaviest makeup, it’s always best to start with these. Getting mascara and lip colour off thoroughly will stop you from spoiling your efforts later on as these makeups are persistent in their ability to make smudges on your face. If you have used waterproof mascara, you will need an oil-based remover to get it off cleanly without much rubbing. Lipstick tends to be easier to remove, a cotton-wool pad moistened with some makeup remover will remove lipstick easily.
With both mascara and lipstick, it is worth holding the cotton-wool pad with makeup remover on the makeup to be removed for a few moments before trying to wipe it away. This gives the remover a chance to soften the makeup and ease the whole process.

Facing Up To The Task
Now you have removed the makeup from your eyes and lips, we need to take care of face makeup. This too benefits a little soaking time, so apply a thin layer of cleanser with a fresh cotton wool pad, but then leave it alone for a minute or two. Once the cleanser has soaked in, a simple face cloth dampened with warm water will easily wipe the makeup away. Take care to cover the contours of your face, your forehead near the hairline, and the sides of your nose, as these areas tend to be tricky.
Have a Good Look
Now you’re pretty makeup free, it’s worth going over your face one more time. Possibly though, this time with a gentle cleanser or just plain warm water.
Tone and Moisturise
Now we’ve finished removing the makeup, we need to look after our skin. Starting with a quick wipe with toner will get your skin ready to receive moisturiser. Toner helps revitalise your skin. Finishing with a moisturiser that suits your skin type is all that’s standing between you and a good night’s sleep. Don’t skip this step though, with removing our makeup, we have removed a lot of moisture from our skin, this last step puts that moisture back while we sleep.
Following these steps after a night out, or a party, will help keep your skin beautiful, healthy and feeling fantastic.
