Dallas and Fort Worth are often compared to one another because of how close they are.  Although there’s no right answer when trying to pick which city is better for everyone: these answers might help you pick which city is better for you!

Affordability

The most important thing to many people when moving is affordability.  We want to be able to afford wherever we’re moving so that we can get more out of our lives there.  Generally, Dallas apartments for rent are more expensive than those you’ll find in Fort Worth.  This continues on to things like food, shopping, clothes, and many other items that can add up quickly.  Dallas does have some cheaper items, like entertainment, but this is only in one-off instances and not overall savings.

Job Opportunities

Dallas has far more jobs available: but Fort Worth pays more on average.  Because of the tighter population of people, there are far more jobs available in Dallas: but you’ll find a higher pay rate in Fort Worth.  This is especially surprising since housing is more affordable there, but the lower number of jobs means you’ll be less likely to grab any of these higher-paying positions.

Fun Activities

You may assume that Dallas gets to claim fun like the Dallas Cowboys: but the AT&T Stadium is actually in Arlington!  Both cities have tons of interesting and fun things to do, though!

Dallas has a far better nightlife and more after-hours fun that can keep you busy and happy, while Forth Worth offers more events that you can enjoy with family members or fun you can have without alcohol.

Nobody who lives in either area just settles to one or the other, though; most bounce between the cities to enjoy the best fun of both cities without ever having to settle on just one.

Traffic

Traffic in Dallas is far worse.  If you’re here trying to get the most out of your Texas vacation: you don’t want to get stuck in traffic for most of your stay.  Rush hours are no joke here, and if you’re not used to driving in a major city, you’ll hate driving in Dallas from five to seven in the evening.

On the other hand, Fort Worth has far more reasonable traffic.  Although you may see more people on the road at rush hour, it’s nowhere nearly as bad as it is within Dallas.

Texas-Feeling

Surprisingly: Fort Worth feels more like the Texas cliche than Dallas does!  Downtown Dallas feels like a large city and loses some of the Texan flavors that usually come with the areas in this state.  Fort Worth makes up for this in spades, allowing you to feel like you’ve stepped into the most Texas town on Earth.  This ensures anyone who’s visiting for a unique experience can find it here.

Fans Love Them Both!

Although you may assume there’s a rivalry here, fans love both cities!  Although they can find better prices in one, or more to do in the other: both cities are a lot of fun.
