We’re a few weeks into 2022 now, we’ve put January well and truly behind us and now is the time to look at how to fix your finances. The headlines are full of horror stories about expensive gas bills, we know the cost of living is increasing and it’s unlikely that our wages will increase with them, so how can you go about being better with money in 2022?

Work Out a Budget

The first thing you really need to do is look at what you’re already spending. This needs to be a reasonably accurate look at your spending habits, so don’t just guess at what you think you probably spend each month, instead go through your bank statements and work out what you are spending, what you are spending it on and how much you have left at the end of the month. From here you can start to look at ways you can cut back, how you might be able to save money and even what sensible choices you should be making with money you have left at the end of the month,

Consider Your Borrowing

Borrowing money isn’t always the best option but if you do need to then making sure you approach this in the most sensible way is important. One of the best ways to do this is to make sure that you use a reputable lender, so you can be sure that the borrowing you’re doing is accurate and sensible. Polar Credit for example are a payday loan alternative that offers sensible lending options. Their website makes it easy to see what you will be paying for borrowing so that you know you’re taking the right route when it comes to borrowing.

You Can’t Do It All

If you are working on fixing your finances then spending frivolously doesn’t really work. Although your friends may be out and about lots, there will be times when you need to learn to say no. Being savvy with money means that you literally can’t do it all – instead, work on your budget and what you can spend and then you know what money you do have left over to do things you might want or to save up for bigger activities.

If you have any more tips on how to fix your finances then we’d love you to share them below!
