Although when it comes to budgeting for the holidays it is usually the summer holidays that people worry about, we still have the Spring half term to take into account when keeping our young ones entertained. If you’re wondering what to do this half term, here are some ideas.
Swap Childcare with Friends
Get together with friends who have kids of a similar age and see if you can swap childcare. Having a friend around will help to keep your child entertained and will mean that your friend can get on with their day child-free. Then, another day in the holidays you can swap and you get a child-free day. This can be a win-win situation when it comes to affordable childcare, giving the grownups a break and keeping kids happy!
Encourage Them To Make a Den
Do kids even make dens anymore? I can remember making loads of them when I was younger. Tell them that they can make a den in their room and use sheets and towels to make it just how they want. If they make it really well and without a fuss they can even eat their dinner there! It might seem like a small thing, but they’ll enjoy the challenge or making it and then the fact that they have their own space to relax in is a real winner too!
Get Them To Make Dinner
You have to make dinner, your kid is there wanting to be entertained – combine the two! Pick a dinner that isn’t too hard to make – pizza for example and get them involved. This keeps them entertained but also means that they’re much more likely to eat their dinner what it is ready, so everyone wins!
